Autumn Lookbook 2011

Neef C: The anticipation has been suffocating me like the only non-smoker in a “pot box” but the wait was well worth it. I find that style has become apart of my life for a while now that I’m looking back at what I’ve done and the smoove people I’ve encountered. Our lookbook may seem like it is effortless, but it took some creative work to help manipulate the simplest idea and create it to be complex. Fall Thoughts series was our way of leading our readers to the highly anticipated lookbook. For us, the ability to do what you love and express it to the world is the drive and motivation that we use to continue and innovate (I will be throwing that word around a lot). Being a Tarheels fan has helped me illuminate with the vibrant color of Carolina blue with dim fall colours. As the best season of the year, we take advantage of the great weather and terrific change of the season. Autumn Lookbook with style, motivation and happiness.

Fall Thoughts: The Bag

Brent S: When the bag is thought of it is mostly given the stable as being dominated for one sex. That sex being females of course, the major accessory for the female population the bag rules their world. From Michael Khors to Salvatore Ferragamo the bag clutch even in some styles the wallet is monopolized by the female fashion industry. But today the masculine men who want the style and of a carry all bag, as well as the aesthetically pleasing appeal of different colors, fabrics, patterns. Today there is not a man I know that will not tote around a backpack, briefcase, or tote bag that doesn’t have some influence on his style.

Autumn LookBook Mini Film

Neef C: This is just a little teaser for my avid bloggers in the blogosphere. Creatively thinking, I embrace videos a lot. Please prepare yourself to feast your starving eyes on a lot more in the future. I need to grab a “Video Editing for Dummies” book so I can cook behind the lens. Smoove job by the man Ovaflow too with the video. We all have a hidden talent waiting to burst in this world of creativity.

League Low. Autumn Lookbook soon come.

Fall Thoughts: Passion of Style

JoeV: I have been missing for awhile now doing other things to better the future of our brotherhood here with ACL & myself. I chose to not speak on a specific clothing or fabric today. I wanted to attend to the passion of how a style should be subjected to the eye. Carrying yourself in such a way of courtesy & manner to not only show who you are through clothing but through actions along with your style. Clothing of a person shouldn’t make them fit in, there attitude of life should. Here with Avid Courtesy League we show off not as models but as true promoters of style & changing the viewing of how a black male is looked at to dress. Versatility is always key, style is with in the veins not with in the clothing.

ACL x Innovation

Neef C: What better way to innovate than collaboration? Riding up Route 1 in Delaware is truly epic when listening to GOAT album “Watch the Throne” while talking to your friends about menswear, sports and women. Fashion’s Night Out this year Brent and I met a lot of cool bloggers, stylists, vintage shop owners, and just snazzy dressers. We ran into the fellas and Gabby during Fashion’s Night Out in NYC in September and traded contacts for future endeavors and now we made the flower bloom in the fall chill. Rutgers University is probably the largest college campus I’ve visited besides the University of Maryland a.k.a Terptown. The environment around us was excelling beyond our imagination and we illuminated that idea to a blinding light. Ride with us as we set forth on a smoove journey of fun, style, and intellegence. Make sure you check out their blogs too. G.spot & FTYE

Fall Thoughts: The Jungle Boot

Neef C: I was too excited to make this post. First and foremost, lots of love to Young Craig for these excellent photos, we’ve been working with each other to innovate in the art of photography. Seeing exactly what we can do to shed the transparent skins that are seen with everyday style images. My militant brother Brent S and I were subject to making a jungle boot post with the amount of times we wear them though the every changing season of fall. I’ve learned to appreciate the militant garments that were worn by all of those that sacrificed their lives to keep America protected. The jungle boot is a very durable boot that maintains the dry and warm foot that we look for in this season. the canvas and rubber feel brings me to the days i was a boy scout in the woods counting the stars careless-like and skipping rocks in the park lake. Let us take you back to those days whether it was in community organizations, camping vacations with the family, or even serving your country in combat.

Fall Thoughts: Dr. Marten Boots

Mike C: “Dr. Marten Boots” are a traditional and popular British footwear brand that over the last few years has become quite popular in American style & fashion. A stark contrast from the Polo, Uggs & Timberland boots majority of males choose to wear today, “DM’s” stand alone with it’s unique air cushioned sole’s, sleek design & great selection in styles and colors. Besides  the “Original Clark Dessert Boots” Doc’s would have to be my favorite footwear of choice. Myself & newest ACL member Lavan Williams wanted to create a post focusing on the detail of this great boot. S/O to ACL “OG” Hanif Castle with the excellent photography, he is actually becoming a very good photographer. Stay tuned for more “Fall Thoughts” post leading up to our much anticipated 2011 Fall Lookbook.
